Lauren's Birthday

Today was Lauren's 27th birthday. I had a banner that I'd been carrying round since New Zealand that I hung up. When she woke up, sometime after ten I gave her the birthday cards that had been posted from her parents and her friends, and one from me. She was so happy and surprised that she started crying which made me cry. Once we were dressed we went out for breakfast and then came back to the hostel. The weather wasn't looking great but we went to the beach anyway. There was no sun but it was still quite warm.

We found our spot and laid out our towels and then went straight into the sea. We floated about for a bit and then sunbathed (cloudbathed) for a while. Then it started raining. It started off quite light but then got to the point where everyone was leaving and packing up. We headed to the nearest shelter just in time as it started chucking it down. Since we were at a bar we had some drinks and shared some chips.  After it stopped raining we went back to the beach to carry on cloudbathing.

Around half 5 we returned to the hostel and showered and then went out for dinner. Lauren chose the restaurant. We went to a place on the beach which was nice. There's load of pretty lights and tables and chairs on the beach during the night. We returned to the hostel afterwards where I surprised Lauren with a cake that the hostel manager had been amazing in helping me organise. She went above and beyond. She helped me surprise Lauren by bringing a speaker ad playing 'happy birthday' on her phone while I came through a back entrance via the bathroom into the bedroom. She turned off all the lights and then in we went with the candles lit. She also have Lauren a little bottle of vodka and two cans of coke. She was so lovely and just amazing.

After we had eaten some cake, which was so yummy, we went and had a cocktail on the beach. Then around 11 we returned to the hostel and called it a night.
