Today has been a boring day. We got up and packed our stuff to leave for our next stop, another island, Koh Tao. We got picked up at 10:50 from a travel agent about 50m from our hostel in a minibus who took us to the same pier we arrived at. We checked in and sat down in the shade for ages until our boat turned up.
The boat was supposed to leave at 12:30 but it was more like 13:10 by the time it did. The trip was about 2 hours (maybe). It was really sunny when we arrived in Koh Tao. We got off the boat and easily found a taxi to our hostel which was about a 15 minute drive. We checked in and dumped our bags, chilled for about half an hour and then went out to see what was what.
We came back to the hostel sometimes after 5 and then did some research into activities while we're here. Then at half 6 we went out for dinner.
We just went to one of the first restaurants we came across. I had fried rice which was pretty nice. Lauren had a weird version of cottage pie. Then we went for cocktails on the beach front. We were sitting in beanbag chairs watching lightening illuminate the whole sky. We eventually returned to the hostel around 9:30pm. We chatted to our roommates who were preparing to go out for the night and just chilled on the beds.
I wasn't able to upload a video directly to the blog so here is a link (for those without Facebook) to a video I took of the lightening:
