I love sleeping in beds! I had a pretty decent nights sleep. Fell asleep at around half 9. Got rudely awaken by the bin men at 6am and was absolutely boiling under the duvet. The only other interruption was the very loud snoring. Thought at first it was the dude above Lauren but it turns out it was the german girl above me. The dude above Lauren was getting very agitated and angry at the snoring apparently.
We didn't do the free walking tour this morning. When we woke up it was pouring down. The weather forecast said it was going to get better as the day went on so we decided to do the afternoon walking tour.
We went to the library instead and used the computers to book a whole load of tours and accommodation that Guila recommended yesterday.
We went back to the hostel, covered ourselves in suncream and headed out to the afternoon walking tour, stopping for a quick lunch on the way. I saw some of them weird birds and took a photo. If anyone knows what they are, please tell me!!

We just got back after our afternoon out. We went to do the walking tour and we walked a long long way. We learnt a lot of interesting things.
One is that the Australian coat of arms has the kangaroo and emu on it. It is the only coat of arms with animals that are eaten on it. We are quite interested in trying kangaroo; the guide said it's a very lean meat but recommended we wait until we get further north. Apparently there are more than 3 times as many kangaroos in Australia as people.
The tour guide told as that Sydney is called Sydney because it is named after the guy who ordered the first ships of British people to be sent to Australia. Apparently it wasn't his first or last name but the name he wanted to be known as.
After the tour we walked to Mrs Macharie's point where we had a beautiful view of the Opera house and bridge together. Apparently The Danish designer of the Opera house never saw the completed project after he was fired for going over budget. He wasn't even invited to the opening ceremony. The government contractor also went over budget but there was no punishment for this. We took many selfies and then headed back to the hostel for a rest before heading off out again to a Chinatown night market.
The market was quite small. It had a couple of food stalls and a couple of none food stalls. We got some food to eat and dragged ourselves back to the hostel. I feel like I've walked 20 miles today.
Now it's time for bed, with the music blaring outside and a room buddy who is destined to come in drunk. Tomorrow we are going to the blue mountains and will probably have to get up early. It will be another day full of walking. My feet will be very grateful for a rest when we get to Byron Bay.

UPDATE: apparently the birds are called ibis' or something along those lines.
*selfies will be posted in the future. Internet problems are prohibiting me posting them as they're not on my own phone*
