Tam Coc

Today we had a bus to Tam Coc at 8:30 so we got up around 7:15 to allow time for our free breakfast. I had some weird sausages in a bread roll and Lauren had bacon. We had just finished eating and were checking out at around 8:15 when the bus turned up. It was a bus for a day trip to Nihn Bihn, stopping at Tam Coc on the way so most people on it were going back to Hanoi after but us and another couple of people were staying in Tam Coc. The bus stopped at a temple on the way but as we weren't part of the tour we just had to hang around for almost an hour whilst the rest visited it. We eventually got to Tam Coc around 12:30pm.

When we arrived we went straight to the place we're staying, called the Tam Coc Family Hotel. We were greeted by a really lovely woman who ran the hotel with her husband and daughter, however she couldn't speak much English. Her daughter was translating for us.  But they were all really lovely. We went to our room, where we had a double bed each and an ensuite bathroom for around £8 each. It was decent.

We spent the afternoon wandering round the village and looking into transport for tomorrow which we booked. We had dinner at a restaurant in the village. I had caramelised pork which was very bland and Lauren has spaghetti carbonara which she wasn't impressed with. Then we came back to the hotel and spent the evening relaxing.
